#Fictober Swift
  • He must have been drunk. Completely, indescribably.

Everything about that night was too fuzzy, too shattered to collect pieces together.

    Was it the light?

Was it his consciousness that melt away after 4 mugs of local brew beer?

He did not know. He could never recall the details.

That man. What was his name again? Richie? No. Robbie? Not even close.

    Oh right. Ricci.

That annoying I’m-too-cool kinda guy, who revealed that he kissed his best friend out of curiosity, intentionally dragged him to the small local pub. The one too small, too simple that a man of his status would never recognize.

“ํYou mind if I smoke?” Ricci asked, pulling one cigarette out to the light.

He a made face. Exaggerated. He knew but he deeply hated smoking.

His uncle passed away thanks to those toxins he inhaled. How marvelous yet deadly could this tiny roll full of poisonous substances do to one’s lung.

“I don’t smoke.” replied monotonously without elaborating the reason. That guy should know better by now.

A smirk carved on Ricci’s mouth. “Shame”

    He just stared blankly.

Finally Ricci shrugged. “You know what? Looking at somebody else like that can easily lead to trouble. But in your case, young master…”

“Don’t call me that!” He snapped. Eyes shone like burning coals.

Ricci shook his head then slid his massive body closer until he could feel the other’s hot breath.

“Why not? Aren’t you one of those rich kids with perfect family background that can be traced back to whatever the hell centuries? C’mon. You need to accept yourself.”

    Teasing, for sure.

He was being teased by a man with no background at all.

    That pissed him off.

“Chill, folk. We’re here to have fun. Aren’t we? Don’t act like a level-headed angry kid. Act like a grown man.” a brief pause. A sincere reluctance in his eyes. “Say, how old are you again?”

He couldn’t stop himself from rolling his eyes. “I think I told you already. So use that brain of yours.”

    “19?”

    He glared.

    “21?”

    “Ugh”

“Not 21? No way! You can’t be more than 20 for the fuck sake. Stop messing around.”

“I’m not messing around. You’re the one with no brain and no memory.” he took a sip of the gold liquid then gave the man a mysterious smile.

Ricci seemed uncertain but, within a blink of an eye, he managed a mischievous smile.

“Don’t believe a single word, kid. I bet you never really experience the adult world.”

    “Huh?”

Suddenly, without any sign, his lips were pressed against Ricci’s. The warmth shot through his whole body. His vision blurred.

    This was truly unexpected.

Ricci pulled away with a gleam of victory in his brightamber eyes.

“Just as I thought. You have zero experience. Well, congrats, boy. You owe me this.”

Silence wrapped around them both for seconds. None of them moved. Faces stayed close to each other. Eyes locked.

For a moment, Ricci’s smile grew brighter, only to be wiped away by a cheerful laugh from his ‘student’.

“My goodness. Can’t believe you think I’m that inexperienced. So...what will you think of this then?”

Without hesitation, he pulled the stunned Ricci closer. This time he took the lead.

They kissed so passionately. Tongues wrapped around each other, pushing and pulling, until the pub owner told them to get a room.

    And they did.

It happened too fast. Too swiftly. Without prior warning.

Who would have thought that this tiny unimportant event in a mundane pub could lead to something beyond imagination?

He thought he knew his sexuality well enough. He always enjoyed the company of women. Soft skin. Beautiful voices. Eyes glittering like stars.

    But this?

“Mornin’, sunshine” a harsh voice called.

His eyes slowly and painfully lit up but the face he saw wasn’t one of those little birds of his.

    It was Ricci.

    What-the-fuck!!!

“Mornin’, Gabriel.” Ricci repeated, putting his large hand on one side of Gabriel’s face tenderly.

    It felt unreal.

It was swift. It was wrong.

Ricci’s hand on his face was snapped away mercilessly. Gabriel forced himself to stand and put his clothes on as fast as his aching body could do at the moment.

    This was unacceptably wrong.

“You leaving?” Ricci almost sounded disappointed. His mouth slightly opened as if he was about to say something but no word came out.

No answer came from Gabriel’s beautiful lips. He only stared at the floor.

Then walked away without saying goodbye.

    This should never happened.

Just erase it. Tell no one and he will be fine.

His dirty secret should be buried deep and time will be the great helper in this situation.

It was just a drunk night. He must have been dreaming.

May God forgive him from his sin.

Everything that are too swift never last long.

And this false relationship, too, shall die out like a candle in the storm.

Tipsy. Swift. And burns too bright for a supremely short period of time.

    It ended as it begun.

    Swiftly.
