France are the defending champions at the 2022 World Cup and manager Didier Deschamps will be hoping his squad can become the third country to win in a row after Italy (1934, 1938) and Brazil (1958, 1962).

FRANCE STAR PLAYER

France was lined up as one of the toughest squads at the World Cup and almost had one world-class player in every line.

Varane, Upamecano and Konate are in contention for the two central defender positions and all three are quality starters.

Aurelian Tchouameni is like a tank in midfield who is able to damage opponent's attacks while sending passes to all sides of the field.

Up front, Mbappe leads the top scorer race, aka the Golden Boot with three goals and is France's brightest star, while Griezmann, in a deeper position, has become a first-class playmaker in Qatar.

Giroud has also scored a brace against Australia to match Thierry Henry's record as France's all-time top scorer.
